Armenia+V4: 20th "Rolan" IFF as a Sustainable Platform for Deepening Intercultural Dialogue

The Kid's Eye Art Association (Hungary) is committed to help as many children - whether living in families or in homes - as possible to express their feelings and thoughts through the medium of film. Apart from teaching kids film making skills, it organises film making groups, summer camps, as well as festivals where interested visitors can view films by children from Hungary and other countries.

JUNIORFEST (the Czech Republic) throughout its activity has been actively promoting European (Czech) film production among children/youth that is not always available in the domestic commercial film distribution.

Activities of the HumanDoc Foundation (Poland) and the Festivalare aimed at building and raising the social awareness about integration, developing contact/cooperation between communities to support imparting knowledge, values, developing skills through organizing cultural/education events (festivals, meetings, workshops, etc.).

Super film is an independent production company based in Bratislava and founded in 2015 by Simona Hrušovská and Veronika Kocourková. Super film is mainly focused on animated and educational film projects for children and young adults.

Culture and Education Foundation (Georgia) is a non-profit organization based in Georgia that is dedicated to promoting the development of young people through cultural-educational projects such as the Taoba International Youth Film Festival and the Film Education Institute. The Taoba IFF is a festival that aims to promote the development of young filmmakers and showcase their work on an international stage. The Film Education Institute is a project that provides educational programs and resources for young people interested in film-making and other aspects of the film industry.

Media Education Centre is a non-profit organization based in Serbia which empowers individuals to navigate the media landscape with responsibility and insight. Its Media Laboratory is an innovative hub for Digital, Information, and Media Literacy which operates year-round in six dynamic departments: Short Film, Animation, TV Production, Virtual-Augmented-Mixed-Extended Reality, ICT, and Multimedia.

 

 

Project Description

 

The project aim is creation of appropriate conditions for deepening intercultural dialogue (engaging new participants from V4, Georgia, Western Balkan countries/Serbia for the first time) for V4 culture and heritage promotion in Armenia (through art/educational/social components) involving maximally large audience using 20th Rolan IFF for Children and Youth as a sustainable international platform.

Dates of the Project: 23/09/2024 - 21/01/2025

PROJECT ACTIVITIES:

in Yerevan:
  • “V4 Film Screenings” (film screenings and discussions with cinematographers from V4),
  • Creative meetings/master classes/workshop with professional cinematographers from V4, Georgia and Serbia in specialized universities/institutions, schools, etc.,
  • Maintaining competitive nomination “BEST VISEGRAD FILM”,
  • Preparation of a special documentary short film “Visegrad+Serbia+Georgia: Welcome to Armenia!”
  • Press conference,
  • Meetings with mass media.
in RA regions (Lori, Shirak, Gegharkunik):
  • “V4 Film Screenings”,
  • Two Exhibitions/Contests “Visegrad+Georgia+Serbia through the Eyes of Armenian Children” in Lori region (Vanadzor) and Shirak region (Gyumri),
  • Creative meetings/master classes with professional cinematographers/project participants in Gegharkunik region,
  • Meetings with regional mass media.

The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad    Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.

 

One of the priorities of the Gombolyag Foundation (Hungary) is the promotion of art and culture among children and youth and the aim of the BUSHO Film Festival is development of cultural identity by motivating young filmmakers to common activities.
