Festival 2007

On October 25-31, 2007, in Yerevan and NKR and 40 days in the regions of RA took place the 3rd International Film Festival for Children and Youth, organized

by Armenian and International (Russia) “Rolan Bykov” Foundations with the support of Ministry of Culture of RA, Municipality of Yerevan and Government of Nagorno-Kharabagh.

During the festival 47 films from 18 countries, shot in 2005–2007, were screened, out of which 14 were in the competition. In the frames of the festival in Yerevan and in Nagorno-Kharabagh master classes, round tables, creative meetings were carried out with participation of the festival guests such as Armen Medvedev, Boris Grachevski, Hakob Kirakosyan, Claudio Gubitosi, Jean Mitterrand, Susana Villeggia, Veda Kumar Manikonda and others. In Nagorno-Kharabagh the festival guests had official meetings with the President, Head of the National Assembly and Minister of Culture of Nagorno-Kharabagh. The Festival was covered by 7 TV channels, 5 radio stations and 30 magazines and newspapers.

The festival reached its main goal – at least for a short time to give happy moments to the children of orphanages, schools and of families in need. More than 17000 children were give a unique chance to watch the best children movies shot during the last 2 years. After the festival was over, the Festival Organizational Committee made a decision to organize the second charitable stage of the festival in the regions of RA.

The best films were screened in Gavar (Gegharkunik Region), Ijevan (Tavoush Region), Gyumri (Shirak Region), Hrazdan (Kotayk Region). Judging by publication in mass media, it can be concluded that the second stage of the festival had great success as well.
